Mirinda Page Jewelry: The Art of Silversmithing

There is a fine line that separates the realm of art from craft. The difference being that art goes a step further than skill. This is definitely the case with the jewelry designer and self-proclaimed silversmith Mirinda Page. Mirinda’s silver jewelry designs are not just jewelry, they are pieces of art.

In her jewelry, Mirinda seeks to bring out the essence of the objects she works with and the beauty of the world around her. She's an artist. Her inspiration comes from the contours and silhouettes of her surroundings.

Though her jewelry can be described as bold, she applies the boldness with a light touch and a sense of understated elegance. Her flower collection, for example, is delicate and feminine, yet the pieces are sure to make a statement. One could say they are the result of what happens when California Flowerchild meets New York Silver Sixties. The pieces are sophisticated with a bohemian edge.

In her latest collection, Mirinda is influenced by architectural details. Her Chrysler Building- inspired necklaces capture the beauty of the iconic building through the use of geometric shapes and lines. The brilliance of her work, however, is not so much the shapes and lines themselves, but her minimalist approach and a great understanding of the concept that "less is more."

Like a true artist, Mirinda makes all her creations by hand. The jewelry is not mass produced by machines or hand crafted in a factory. Therefore, each piece is part of a limited collection.

Currently, Mirinda'sjewelry can be found on-line at Marie Eiffel, the “go-to” boutique for the rich and famous in New York’s Hamptons area of Long Island.  However, Mirinda is planning to bring her designs to Miami soon. We will keep you posted.
